About JOSHUA

Counselor Joshua Goff smiling with a wrinkled nose in a blue shirt in front of green trees.

Joshua Goff is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in the state of Missouri. He received his Master of Social Work degree from the Brown School at Washington University in St. Louis in 2023, after receiving his Master of Science degree in Psychology in 2013 from the University of South AlabamaJoshua has experience and interest working with persons who have been through childhood and other traumas/PTSD, sexual abuse, obsessiveness and/or compulsiveness, fears and phobias, abusive behavior by others, poor self-image, anxiety, and depression, and more.  Joshua also has special insights working with persons who have experienced a disability.

Joshua’s approach to therapy leans heavily on the power of mindfulness and honesty to promote healing in an environment of safety and openness.  His natural warmth, humor, and easy-appeal means clients find themselves more able to self-evaluate — they find out what may or may not be working for them, while at the same coming into a fuller realization of their own strengths.  Using insights from his backgrounds in music, athletics, philosophy, and mythology, Joshua’s clients find that therapy is instrumental in the development of greater self-esteem, self-efficacy, and personal growth.

From Joshua:

Life is hard enough without having to go through it alone!  No matter who you are or where you are from, know that we all have complications — we all need growth and healing.  As we embrace these realities, we also learn to embrace all of the parts of ourselves, including those that most need our attention and affection. Make no mistake, the path to growth can be difficult.  It involves equal parts frustration and exploration, and even a good dose of humor!  But when we face ourselves, we may also find that the outcome is beautiful, rewarding, and even enchanting.  I look forward to being on the journey with you!”

It’s vital to remember who you really are. It’s very important. It isn’t a good idea to rely on other people or things to do it for you, you see. They always get it wrong.
